Details for mid-week storm.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for:
- Litchfield county: 12pm Thursday
- Hartford/ Tolland/ Windham counties: 6am Thursday
- N. Fairfield/ N. New Haven/ N. Middlesex/ N. New London counties until 10am Thursday.
A very nice day today, with highs landing in the upper 40s and low to mid 50s, with abundant sunshine. Tomorrow, the storm will begin to move in. Around lunch time tomorrow, we will start to see the precip move into the area. The precip will start out as snow. This will cause schools to close early, and some may get canceled. Then, later in the afternoon temps will warm up, creating a mix situation of snow and rain. Overnight, temps will be in the mid 30s, supporting mix. Some points we may see some freezing rain and sleet, which is worse than snow. Watching a high pressure in Canada to see if it will lock in the cold air for this storm. On the back side, we may see enough cold air to get some more snow on the back side. After the snow comes to an end, I think that we will see a good 2-6" for central and northern CT, the Litchfield hills may get more with 5-8", and the shoreline looks to only have a couple hours of snow, with mostly ice and mix. So I predict a coating-3". This storm will clear out Thursday night, and Friday looks to be a mostly cloudy day, but dry. Highs on Friday will be in the low to mid 30s. Then, we are watching a storm for Saturday. A cold front will develop, and before it, a great deal of warm air will be moving through, so SW wind will quickly change. I do expect some thunderstorms with this, as the cold front will meet the warm air will spark some thunderstorms.

Thanks for watching!
